The Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing is a war memorial in YpresBelgium, dedicated to 54,395 British and Commonwealth soldiers who were killed in the Ypres Salient of World War I and whose graves are unknown. The walls of the Memorial were not enough to carry the names of all the missing from the conflict and there are 35,000 more names on the Tyne Cot Memorial.

Except for the occupation by the Germans in World War II when the daily ceremony was conducted at Brookwood Military Cemetery, in Surrey, the Last Post Ceremony has been carried on uninterrupted at the Menin Gate since 2 July 1928.

Michael Ireland, Second Tenor, was honoured to lay a wreath at the 8pm ceremony on the 10th July 2018 on behalf of the Derbyshire Constabulary Male Voice Choir to remember all former choir members. There were 21 wreaths laid that evening.
