During the summer Clive and Diane visited the Military cemetery just outside Mons in Belgium.
The land was donated by a local farmer on the understanding that both Allied and German soldiers be buried there. The first British soldier and the last British soldier of WW1 are both buried here.
Clive stood on the grass between both graves as he sang for all the lads buried there.

The song was published as a poem in 1916 in a book called
' Fighting Men' by the prolific poet Cecily Fox Smith but there is some doubt as to whether she collected or wrote it.The poem was in the magazine 'This England' in the 1980's credited to anonymous and was seen by Sarah Morgan who set it to music. It was subsequently performed by herself, Cockersdale, Bermuda Triangle, Roger Watson and others.
